Web Services Manager, Baldwin Wallace University
The Web Services Manager is responsible for the tactical development and use of digital technologies – including but not limited to Web, mobile, electronic, and social media tools – to support the overall communication efforts of Baldwin Wallace University. Implements the effective and appropriate use of digital media to reach and serve a variety of external and internal audiences, with special emphasis on admission, marketing and advancement. Contributes to and helps implement decisions regarding the design, navigation, and effective use of BW’s Web site and other digital platforms. This person executes the overall development, design and utility of the Web environment to meet the vision and direction set by the President and officers of the University. The position reports to the Director of University Relations and works closely with the Director of E-Marketing in setting priorities. Essential duties, tasks and responsibilities: (The following duties are not to be considered a complete list of duties and responsibilities assigned to this position.) • Develops Web strategies that meet established communication goals, implementing plans for success with regards to usability, content deployment and navigation. • Serves as campus expert in use of Web Content Management System (CMS) and other digital tools. Establishes best practices and provides Web-related consultation and training to the campus community. • Responsible for the development, optimization, and maintenance of BW Web sites on desktop and mobile platforms. • Collaborates with members of the campus community in building effective and strategic Web pages. Ensures that visual elements and messaging coordinates with the University’s integrated marketing plan. • Establishes SEO best practices and implements analytics tools and procedures to collect, analyze, and present in order to utilize metrics to enhance BW’s digital efforts. • Develops assets and templates for BW’s e-communication efforts. • Stays current with new and emerging technologies related to the Web and e-communication while working closely with the Director of E-Marketing and the Information Technology office to recommend appropriate advances in digital technology. • May be called on to produce content for Web sites. • Facilitates rapid response to Web-originated inquiries and communications. • Supports other departmental and University initiatives as assigned.
