Press Club of Cleveland to Induct Five into Journalism Hall of Fame on Nov. 13

The Press Club of Cleveland Journalism Hall of Fame to induct 

Mark Dawidziak, Bob Dyer, Tom Hamilton, Ken Robinson and Liz Vaccariello

 

November 13 gala also to celebrate Betsy Kling as Chuck Heaton Award recipient

Cleveland, Ohio, July 15, 2015 - The Press Club of Cleveland has selected five leaders from print, broadcast and digital media to be inducted into The Press Club of Cleveland 2015 Journalism Hall of Fame at a gala celebration on Friday evening, Nov. 13, 2015, at The Ritz-Carlton, Cleveland. The inductees are:

  • Mark Dawidziak, Television Critic/Pop Culture, The Plain Dealer
  • Bob Dyer, Columnist, Akron Beacon Journal
  • Tom Hamilton, Broadcaster, "Voice of the Cleveland Indians"
  • Ken Robinson,Multimedia Journalist, Newsradio WTAM 1100 Cleveland, iHeartMedia
  • Liz (Ludlow) Vaccariello, Chief Content Officer and Editor in Chief, Reader's Digest; former Editor of Cleveland Magazine

The club will also present its annual Chuck Heaton Award to Betsy Kling, chief meteorologist at WKYC-TV3. Kling is the eighth recipient of the award. It is given to an individual who best exemplifies the qualities of Chuck Heaton, the late Plain Dealer reporter and Press Club Hall of Famer who passed away in February 2008. Heaton was known for his lifelong dedication to journalism, his fairness, his concern for community and helping others.

The Press Club of Cleveland created The Press Club of Cleveland Journalism Hall of Fame in 1981. Plaques honoring inductees are displayed at Nighttown, 12387 Cedar Road, Cleveland Heights, which serves as the Club's unofficial home.
