Join us for The Press Club of Cleveland's continuing "Meet the Media" Series as we feature a conversation with local TV News Directors. These newsroom leaders are dealing with ever-changing platforms, technology and consumer trends all while staying true to the best, most accurate news reporting and storytelling possible. Also, hear their tips on how PR professionals can best pitch stories to news organizations. This is a rare opportunity to hear from and engage with these TV News Directors in one lunchtime event.

Russ Mitchell, News Anchor and Managing Editor, WKYC 3News and Press Club Board Member

Russ Mitchell, former anchor of the CBS Evening News weekend editions and The Early Show on Saturday, and national correspondent for CBS News Sunday Morning, the CBS Evening News, and The Early Show joined the staff of 3News as Managing Editor Evening News and lead anchor of the 6pm and 11pm newscasts on January 16, 2012.

Jodie Heisner

News Director WEWS, New 5 Cleveland

Jodie Heisner is an Emmy Award winning News Director at News 5 Cleveland. In her nearly three years as News Director in Cleveland she’s overseen several major stories including the murder of Cleveland Police Detective James Skernivitz, severe flooding, snowstorms, and most recently the train derailment in East Palestine. She was born and raised in the Midwest and her 20-year career has taken her to Phoenix, Detroit, and she’s happy her family now calls Cleveland home.

Andy Fishman

Vice President/News Director, WJW-TV/Fox 8

Andy Fishman is the Vice President/News Director for WJW-TV/Fox 8. He has been in that position since 2014 and has worked at Fox 8 in various management roles for the past 28 years. Prior to that, Andy was an Executive Producer at WEWS. He is a graduate of Orange High School and Ohio University and is the recipient of 21 local and regional Emmy Awards Andy lives in Solon, Ohio with his wife and two children.

Jonathan Adkins

News Content Director, WKYC-TV 3, Cleveland

Jonathan Adkins was named News Content Director at WKYC-TV, TEGNA’s NBC affiliate, in August 2018.

He has worked at the station since December of 2009 serving in roles as the station’s Assistant News Director, Managing Editor and Executive Producer of several shows and special projects. During his time at the station his work has been recognized with several regional Emmy and Murrow awards, as well as other honors. Prior to joining TEGNA, Adkins served as a senior producer for Cleveland’s WJW Fox affiliate. He began his career as a producer for NBC’s WHEC-TV in Rochester, New York.Adkins is a graduate of Mansfield University in Mansfield, PA.

Brian Sinclair

Assistant News Director, WOIO, Cleveland 19

Brian Sinclair is an Emmy-award-winning journalist with more than 25 years of experience in the television industry. He has been the assistant news director at WOIO-TV since 2015 and is responsible for overseeing the daily news operations for the CBS, CW, and Telemundo stations. Before moving into his current role, Brian was an Executive Producer for nine years at WOIO. He began his career as a producer and then senior producer for KHNL-TV in Honolulu, Hawaii where he grew up with his family. He moved to Cleveland in 2004 and now lives in North Ridgeville with his wife and four children.
