Moderator
Elizabeth McIntyre is executive editor of Crain’s Cleveland Business. A graduate of Bowling Green State University, she spent 20 years at The Plain Dealer as an editor, where she directed the news operations of the Metro, Business, Sports and Features departments. She was named editor of Crain’s Cleveland Business in 2014 and took on the dual role of publisher and editor in 2016. In 2020, Elizabeth decided to return her full-time attention to journalism and became executive editor of the publication.
 
The nationally award-winning journalist was named best business columnist in Ohio in 2017, 2018 and 2020 by the Press Club of Cleveland. Elizabeth serves as a member of the Board of Trustees of St. Edward High School, Ursuline College and the Press Club of Cleveland. The Youngstown native is married to Mike McIntyre, executive editor of ideastream. Elizabeth and Mike were inducted into the Press Club of Cleveland Hall of Fame in 2016.
Panelists
Willliam (Bill) Adams is senior vice president and senior economist for The PNC Financial Services Group. In this role, Adams contributes to analysis of the U.S. national economy and regional economies within PNC’s core footprint. He is responsible for forecasts of international economic conditions, interest rates, and exchange rates, covering major foreign developed and developing economies. He also is a member of the investment policy committee for PNC’s Institutional Asset Management line of business.

Adams serves as PNC’s spokesperson on international economic issues, and frequently presents to PNC’s clients on the economic outlook. He is widely quoted in the financial press and is a regular guest on Bloomberg, CNBC, and other broadcast programs. Adams joined PNC in 2011. He was promoted to vice president in 2015.
Dr. Kay E. Strong is a professor of economics at Baldwin Wallace University, Dr. Kay E. Strong’s teaching responsibility is primarily undergraduate courses in economics. Her areas of professional expertise include international economics, macroeconomics, econometrics, contemporary social-economic issues, complexity and applications of futures research. Strong is a member of the American Economic Association and Association of Professional Futurists.

Her publications on international finance appear in the Journal of Economics and Finance and Journal of Business and Economic Perspectives. Articles on teaching economics appear in College Teaching Methods & Styles, the AURCO Journal and the Institute for Learning and Research Technology at the University of Bristol, U.K. The Futures Research Quarterly carries her futures articles. Strong has presented numerous papers at international, national and regional conferences.
