Former Editor in Chief- Industry Week Magazine
Former Editor-in-Chief Patricia Panchak brought award-winning journalism, powerful public speaking and a wealth of experience about manufacturing management leadership, strategy and best practices to her leadership of IndustryWeek's national media franchise.
Panchak has over 15 years of business journalism experience. She was named editor-in-chief of IndustryWeek after more than six years as managing editor and then executive editor. As editor, she directed the strategic development and execution of all editorial products, including the magazine, IndustryWeek.com, research and information products, and executive conferences.
In her recent work, she led the magazine's effort to help manufacturing executives confront the biggest challenge to U.S. global manufacturing dominance in nearly a quarter century -- the emergence of China and other low-cost competitors into the world marketplace. The resulting seven-part series earned the IW staff the 2003 Jesse H. Neal Business Journalism Award for best subject-relates series of articles.
Through her commentary, for which she was awarded the 2003 Neal award for best staff-written editorials, she brought an articulate and well-informed perspective to a wide range of business issues. Also in 2003, she earned the American Business Media's Midwest Award for Editorial Courage and Integrity.
Panchak holds a master's degree in Journalism from Ohio University's E.W. Scripps School of Journalism, where she was inducted into Kappa Tau Alpha, the journalism honor society. She has a bachelor's degree in Journalism and a bachelor's degree in English from Bowling Green State University.
