The Press Club of Cleveland Hall of Fame Selection Committee is seeking nominations
for the Class of 2019 Press Club of Cleveland Journalism Hall of Fame
and the 2019 Chuck Heaton Award
**Deadline for nominations is 11:59 p.m. Monday, July 1, 2019**
- Nominations for the Hall of Fame and Chuck Heaton Award will be accepted from Press Club members.
- Finalists for the Class of 2019 and the Heaton Award honoree will be
chosen by the Hall of Fame Committee and approved by the Press Club
board.
- Induction will take place at the banquet on Thursday, Nov. 2, 2019 at LaCentre in Westlake.
Who is eligible for the Journalism Hall of Fame?
- The nominee must have
made notable contributions to journalism (broadcast, print and/or
digital) in Cleveland and Northeast Ohio.
- Demonstrated exceptional leadership, courage or contributions to the news industry.
- Either have worked in the Cleveland area or had an exceptional career here before going elsewhere.
What is The Chuck Heaton Award?

It is presented to a journalist who
exemplifies the sensitivity and humility -- along with journalistic
talents -- that were traits exhibited by Chuck Heaton, the late Plain
Dealer reporter.
- The nominee’s contributions to the community will weigh heavily for this award.
